CARGO Excursions
2008
After an extremely successful, brain draining excursion to Thredbo last year, focusing on snow, ice & weather ( their was no fun involved)
o
we will only be having a minor excursion around the local area focusing on the curricula.
On Tuesday 1.7.08, Cargo students were treated to a surprise bus excursion. Mr Tom was saddled up in the PCYC Bus, picking up all passengers and they were off. First stop was the Pinnacle. Everyone climbed what seemed like Mt Everest. It was bitter cold at the top but the view was fantastic. Next we travelled to the fourth crossing at Ophir. There we trekked the Chinese water course and falls. This was very interesting and the craftsmanship was excellent. Further on we explored the Ophir mine and did some gold panning in Summerhill creek.
Lunch was couteousy of Dominio's pizza which we ate at Borenore caves picnic grounds. Yum.
To the delight of the children, they got to crawl on their bellies through the tunnels and explore the various caves at Borenore.
It was a fun filled day that everyone enjoyed. Thanks parents who came along.
